Pair of rare early Frankfurt plates with faience monogram. Round shape with a recessed centre and slightly rising, straight rim. The surface decorated in cobalt blue in the Chinese style with four large floral motifs, birds and scattered insects. Monogram "D W A" in the centre. The underside with sparse radial decoration of lines, stripes and a cross pattern. Remainder; d. 39.5 cm.
