Pair of signed Louis XV chests of drawers by Gervais-Maximilien-Eugene Durand
Walnut and rosewood, veneered and inlaid with rosewood. Cambered body on three sides, flanked by slender corner pilaster strips, merging into slightly flared legs. Two optically connected drawers sans traverse in the articulated front. Wide framed, mirrored veneer panels with floral inlays and rich rocaille applications in gilt bronze. Slightly protruding, moulded top plate of red-violet and white veined marble. Stamped sign. G.DURAND. H. 88 cm. 114 cm x 51 cm.
