PAILLARD (Switzerland) - 19th century Orchestral music box from the second half of the 19th century. This superb mechanism can play twelve tunes (waltzes, polkas, marches, etc.), and comes with its original cardboard insert, listing the names and composers of the twelve tunes. Four Chinese automata in lotus position, each with two bells, frame an eight-hammer drum. The comb consists of three elements: 22 cm (42 blades), 18 cm (33 blades), 8 cm (17 blades), i.e. 92 blades for a total length of 48 cm; the cylinder measures 49 cm. Rosewood veneered case with inlaid decoration on the lid of a diamond medallion of stylized interlacing and light wood frames, resting on four blackened wood doucine feet.
