PAIR OF BACTRIAN SCHIST VOTIVE BOWLS WITH GEOMETRIC MOTIFS
Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC.
A pair of schist votive bowls, the one on the left with a rounded body on a flattened base, the upper half arranged in registers of vertical notches, parallel grooves, a crosshatched band and further grooves, followed by two opposed diagonally hatched friezes and a final grooved band, the lower half plain; the one on the right with a rounded body, the upper zone with diagonal hatching and a broad crosshatched frieze bounded above and below by parallel grooves, the lower zone undecorated.
