PAIR OF BRONZE SCYTHIAN ZOOMORPHIC APPLIQUÉS
Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A pair of bronze appliqués depicting recumbent horned animals, each with a rectangular hollow mount on the reverse for attachment. One figure presents a stylised deer with large eyes, a ridged mane, and sharply angled legs tucked beneath its body. The other shows a similarly posed animal with coiled scroll-like elements along its back and short, rounded antlers. Both figures are compact in form with flattened sides and finely modelled facial features. M. Bolla, Animali di bronzo del Museeo archeologico al teatro Romano di Verona, 2021, Cat.109.
