AD 400 - 600 A pair of gold rings, including, from left to right: a ring with a flat-section hoop expanding to a high conical bezel set with a red stone, the shoulders and band decorated with a network of applied wire scrolls and lozenges; and a ring with an octagonal bezel set with a red intaglio engraved with a monogram formed from intersecting chi (X) and rho (P), on a narrow hoop thickened at the shoulders. Size: D:14.88- 16.71mm / US: 3 3/4 -6 1/4 / UK: H-M; Weight: 67g. Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000.
