PAIR OF CHINESE TERRACOTTA GEESE - TL TESTED.
Han Dynasty, Ca. 202 BC - AD 220.
A pair of terracotta geese. They are standing still with their head held high and are supported by bronze legs. Each is detailed with earth tone pigments, with feather patterns painted onto the folded wings.
Size: 230-250mm x 260-230mm; Weight: 2.1Kg
Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
