PAIR OF EGYPTIAN WOODEN FIGURES. Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A pair of painted wooden figures, each carved with a short, squared wig, an oval face, shoulder mortises for separate arms, a tapering torso, and long legs. Mounted. For similar see: An ancient Egyptian ka-statue in the Egyptian Gallery at Glencairn Museum (E1162). Size: 190-205mm x 35-45mm; Weight: 90g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the French art market in the 1970s.
