PAIR OF FRENCH M1866 CHASSEPOT YATAGAN SWORD BAYONETS.

A pair of French M1866 Chassepot yatagan bayonets. The first bayonet features Tulle armoury marks from April 1868, as well as the 'hot air balloon' makers mark. The other bears an anchor mark but does not show its maker. Both with working release buttons and scabbards.

Provenance: From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1980s.
