PAIR OF INDUS VALLEY POTTERY PAINTED CONE VESSELS.
Ca. 2500 - 2200 BC
A pair of pottery cone vessels, each with a tall, slightly flaring mouth above a long tapering body terminating in a small base. The exterior of the one on the left is decorated with horizontal bands of dark, red and blue pigment, the other with broad vertical panels, some filled with a ladder pattern.
Size: 190-190mm x 90-95mm; Weight: 790g.
Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in Japan; previously in 1970s Japanese collection.
