PAIR OF Mk.I BRITISH PATTERN 1888 BAYONETS. Ca. AD 1888. A pair of British Pattern 1888 bayonets, commonly referred to as Lee-Metford bayonets. The first is a 1st type Mk.I and the second is a 2nd type Mk.I. Both have War Department, bend test, and inspection marks on the right of their ricasso, whilst the bayonet that retains its wooden handle scales features a myriad of stamps on the left of the ricasso.
