PAIR OF SCYTHIAN FAIENCE HORSE-SHAPED PLAQUES Ca. 9th - 8th century BC. A pair of faience horse-shaped plaques, each depicting a stylised equine figure with an elongated, curving body and a notched mane. The head extends forward with an open mouth. The legs are slender and terminate in rounded hooves. Circular perforations are distributed across the body, suggesting points for attachment or suspension. Size: 100-100mm x 65-75mm; Weight: 60g Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the Belgian art market, 1990s.
