PAIR OF VIKING SILVER BROOCHES
Ca. AD 700 - 1000.
A pair of silver penannular brooches, each formed from a thick circular frame with decorative knobs flanking the terminals. The brooch on the left has a raised zigzag band encircling the hoop and an attached silver chain. Its tapered, round-section pin is secured by a tightly coiled loop. The brooch on the right presents stamped decoration of triangles and dots along the surface, with a flat-sectioned pin that extends well beyond the frame in a sharply tapering profile.
