A pair of Louis XVI style gilt and patinated bronze three-branch wall-lights, after the model by Louis-Gabriel Féloix This remarkable pair of wall lights, richly decorated with eagles, leonine masks, satyr heads and musical instruments, was inspired by the famous model supplied by Louis-Gabriel Feloix in 1787 for Madame Adélaïde's bedroom in Versailles and Marie-Antoinette's bedroom in Saint-Cloud. The attribution to Feloix, a foundryman who collaborated with great bronzemakers such as the marchand-fondeur Quentin-Claude Pitoin, is based on several deliveries recorded in the journal of the Garde-Meuble in 1787. A pair of sconces of the same design, although of the same period, are in the Wallace Collection in London (inv. F.374-377) and are illustrated in Pierre Verlet's Les Bronzes Dorés Français du XVIIIe siècle, Picard, Paris, 1987, p. 286.
