Ottomeyer, P., Pröschel et al, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, p. 242, fig. 4.5.8). A second pair of the same model was part of the former Bardac collection (sale in Paris, Hôtel Drouot, 8 December 1927, lot 74). It is also worth mentioning the existence of a variant in which the third arm comes from a ribbon knot instead of a snake; a pair of this model is in the Wrightsman collection in New York (MM 201 256) and illustrated in ibid. fig. 4.5.10. *Information for buyers: Lot from outside the EU: The hammer price is exclusive of VAT.
