(Minor accidents, restorations and missing) A PAIR OF ARMCHAIRS WITH BACKRESTS 'À LA REINE', STAMPED L. POUSSIEE, FOR LOUIS POUSSIEE, LOUIS XV PERIOD 95 x 65 x 56 CM - 37,4 x 25,6 x 22 IN. Louis Poussiée was a carpenter who obtained his master's degree before 1737. He worked with Étienne Saint-Georges, his colleague, before opening his own workshop, where he worked for only ten years before disappearing around 1749. Some of his chairs still recall the taste of the Regency period, but like ours, his work is mainly characterised by Louis XV cartouche and foliage carvings.
