PAIR OF LOUIS XV PERIOD CABRIOLET ARMCHAIRS, STAMPED MATHON in moulded and carved wood, lacquered in two shades of cream and cyan, decorated with flowers, scrolls and foliage. Armrests and curved legs. Blue velvet upholstery. H. 84.5 x W. 62 x D. 62 cm. (The lacquer is missing and worn, the carving is slightly damaged and missing, restorations) Note : Augustin Mathon - Carpenter. Master around 1748. He practised on rue de Cléry towards the middle of the reign of Louis XV. He was succeeded by his son, who bore the same first name and was awarded the title of Master on 3 October 1763.
