A pair of Empire style gilt and patinated metal ten-light candelabra
The patinated bronze figures on the shafts of this monumental pair of candelabra are of the same design as those attributed to Pierre-François Feuchère in the Mobilier National and illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel et al, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, Vol. I, p. 334, fig. 5.2.16. A second pair was delivered by Feuchère to the Château de Compiègne in 1810, while a third pair from the Château de Ferrières sold at Sotheby's Monaco on 3 December 1994, lot 117.
