Pair of officer's long flintlock pistols. Round barrels with flats on top. Flat-bodied locks signed "CHARO AU PORT DE PILLE" and hammers engraved with foliage. Triangular stocks, chased battery springs. Chased iron fittings. Long-eared caps with octagonal studs. Carved walnut stocks decorated with silver wire inlays to the rear of the breech. Later ramrods. Length: 55 cm; Weight of ramrods: 19 g; Weight of end caps: 4 g; Total gross weight: 2245 g. Average condition (oxidation, cracks on the barrels and under the lock for one, on the stock for the other, missing). Circa 1730. Provenance: Collection of Mr F. EXPERT: Arnaud DE GOUVION SAINT-CYR.
