PAIR OF CONSULATE PERIOD MARQUISES Stamped by Jacob Frères rue Meslée In carved wood, cream lacquered and gilded, the back decorated with rosettes and foliage, the armrests with palm leaves and lotus leaves, resting on four sabre feet, stamped JACOB FRERES/RUE MESLEE on the back rail, upholstered in light blue silk damask; small accidents and missing gilding. H.90.5 cm (35 ½ in.) l.110 cm (43 ¼ in.) Jacob Frères, rue Meslée, stamp used by François-Honoré-Georges and Georges II Jacob between 1796 and 1803.
