Lot no. 44
Pair of wedding clogs
Made of carved, painted, stained, varnished and engraved wood. They resemble dress shoes in shape; the toe is stained black, as is the upper, and they are edged with scalloped trim. The upper features a pansy on one side and some very pretty intertwined initials: ‘DG’. One bears the date ‘7bre’ (for 7 October) and the other the date ‘1888’. The interiors are partially painted blue.
