First collective edition of the discoveries of Bernard Palissy (1510-1589), "a simple earthenware potter", on the structures of the earth, alchemy, metals, stones, etc. It was donated by Faujas de Saint-Fond and the mineralogist Gobet 150 years after the death of the author, who has since fallen into oblivion. Without the portrait and the dedicatory epistle to Benjamin Franklin which were removed before publication (cf. Brunet) and which are almost always absent (preliminary leaves v to viii).
