PARIS - MANUFACTURE DE NAST A rare porcelain cup and saucer decorated with Etruscan-style gilding on a midnight blue background. The flared cup has a scrolled handle and is decorated with a clasp at the handle and a lion's head at the base. The body is set in a square cartouche with a polychrome painted composition of a genre scene in an Italian landscape. The reverse is decorated with a gilded motif of a winged figure of victory flanked by two horns of plenty facing each other and emerging from foliage motifs. The base consists of three claw feet on a circular pedestal. The circular saucer rests on a pedestal and is bordered on the inside by a frieze of waves, the centre decorated with a rosette. The outside is bordered on the top by a frieze of water leaves. Marked on the reverse: "Nast à paris par brevet d'inv on. Early 19th century. Height of cup: 13 cm - Diameter of saucer: 17 cm (the decoration is worn, the cup has been restored at the lip, good general condition)
