It is illustrated with three lithographs by Nathalie Goncharova, printed outside the text in black or in two-colour process, in the cubo-futurist style characteristic of the artist.
Valentin Panakh (1891-1951) was a poet, musician and ballet master. He studied drama in St Petersburg with Vsevolod Meyerhold and spent six years in Paris, from 1916 to 1922, during which time he was a friend of Apollinaire and Picasso. He dedicated the poems in this collection to Ossip Mandelstam, Vsevolod Meyerhold, Michel Larionov, Nathalie Goncharova and Alexandre Blok.
