PART OF AN EMPIRE PERIOD SÈVRES PORCELAIN CABARET, CIRCA 1806-1807 Comprising a large covered coffee pot, a covered sugar pot with scrolled handles, a Greek milk jug, five conical cups with two handles and five saucers, with polychrome decoration of butterflies in lozenges on a red Etruscan background and rosettes in medallions on a black background in bands on a lilac background standing out against a gold background; a chip at the foot of the coffee pot. Marked: M. Imple de Sèvres, sign for year 14 and 7 H. (coffee pot): 27 cm (10 ½ in.) H. (milk jug): 21 cm (8 ¼ in.) H. (sugar pot): 14.8 cm (5 ¾ in.) H. (cups): 9.5 cm (3 ¾ in.) D. (13) Origin : Offered by order of the Emperor to Mr the Count of Truchsess-Waldburg (Friedrich von Truchsess-Waldburg, future Grand Master of King Jerome) envoy extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of H.M. the King of Wurtenberg on the occasion of the marriage of H.S.H. Prince Jerome with Princess Catherine of Wurtenberg. In Empire Sevres porcelain 13-piece part "cabaret", circa 1806-1807 This cabaret is mentioned in the register of credit sales in September 1807 as follows: a 16-piece cabaret with a lilac and gold background, red background cartels with butterflies & at a total price of 866.
