In 2006 Patek Philippe introduced the ref. 5711 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its iconic Nautilus. The 5711/1A-001 was the very first series launched. It remained in production until 2009, when it was discontinued in favour of the reference 5711/1A-010, which appeared in 2010 and introduced the Patek Philippe hallmark.
Our example, stamped with the Geneva hallmark, is considered by the collecting community to be the contemporary version of the Nautilus 3700. While the Nautilus 5711 remained in the catalogue for 15 years, from 2006 to 2021, the so-called 'first generation' or 'Geneva Seal' versions, such as the one shown here, are undoubtedly the most highly prized.
