It was on these images that Éluard wrote the love poems for Facile, a book published and laid out by the poet-typographer Guy Levis Mano. A collaboration between the surrealist photographer and the poet, in which text and image interact in perfect harmony, creating a fluid union of the visual and literary arts. Maria Benz (Nusch Éluard) (1906-1946) A Franco-German artist, she is best known as Nusch Éluard, muse and wife of Paul Éluard. An icon of Surrealism, she dabbled in the performing arts, acrobatics and hypnosis before becoming one of the most renowned muses of Surrealist Paris, celebrated by the works of Man Ray, Picasso, Miró, Valentine Hugo, Dora Maar, etc. She inspired major works. Guy Lévis Mano (1904-1980) French poet, typographer, publisher and translator. He is also known by the pseudonym Jean Garamond. He founded his first publishing project in 1923 and ran it under the acronym GLM (Guy Lévis Mano) until 1974. Éditions G.L.M. was a pillar of French poetry in the XXᵉ century, combining poetry, typography, publishing and artistic collaboration to produce works of great cultural and artistic value. Georges Sadoul (1904-1967) French journalist, critic and film historian. A doctor of art history at Moscow University and professor of film history, he published numerous books and articles on French and international cinema. An active member of the Surrealist movement, he maintained close links with many of the artists and writers of his time, including Paul Éluard.
