Paul JANIN (1890-1973) Portrait of Monsieur Mathieu Varille (1885-1963) in his home Watercolour, signed and dated (19)43 lower left H. 75 cm - W. 60 cm HVS Exhibition : Lyon, Salon de la Société des Beaux-Arts, (label on reverse of mount). The two men worked together, notably in 1927, when Janin produced the illustrations for the book "Sainte-Foy de Conques" written by Varille.
