On a burnished blank (PROOF) with a marvellous shiny grey patina, with steel-blue and light gold highlights. Only a few fingerprints. Almost corner flower.
Several strikes of 2 1/2 gulden of William III on burnished blanks (PROOF) exist. All these mintages are only reported in few copies in general. The following PROOF vintages are known: 1849, 1850, 1860, 1862, 1867, 1869, 1872 (sale MDC 17), 1873 (PCGS in mat proof) and 1874 (PCGS in silver gilt).
