Pedro de Camprobín, a 17th-century still life painter, embodies a unique connection between Castile and Andalusia. He trained with Luis Tristán in Toledo from 1619 to 1624 before moving to Seville in 1628, where he joined the guild and became known for his still lifes, although religious painting also featured in his work. Camprobín was one of the founders of the Seville Academy of Painting in 1660, and his style, influenced by Zurbarán, evolved towards more sophisticated compositions. His works, featuring flowers, fruit and confectionery, contributed to Camprobín's reputation as a Baroque painter from Seville.
