Gilt bronze clock flanked by the figure of Homer and his dog, in gilt patinated bronze, playing the lyre with his dog at his feet. The round white enamel dial with black Roman numerals is signed "Chopin à Paris". It stands on a rectangular sea-green marble base with claw feet decorated with an ormolu and chased frieze depicting griffins facing each other on either side of a central lyre in a frame of foliage and flowers.
