A white marble and gilt bronze "Aux Maréchaux" clock, decorated with "Allegories of study and philosophy" and surmounted by an "Eagle perched on a thunderbolt in clouds". The base is decorated with foliage and friezes of putti symbolising the arts and sciences, and stands on six feet. Wire movement, dial and back plate signed Ch. Dutertre in Paris. French work.
