Portico clock known as the Temple of Love in moulded white marble, the stepped base supporting four tapering fluted columns and a pedestal surmounted by a dove, topped by an entablature with a central circular dial topped and framed by flowering vases. Chased and gilded bronze laurel leaf scrolls, tasselled trimmings, flowers and foliage. The white enamelled dial with Arabic numerals indicating the hours and minutes is signed in blue by Charles Bertrand, watchmaker to the Royal Academy of Sciences, rue Montmartre, Paris, received as master watchmaker on 20 February 1772.
