Portico clock in chased bronze with a gilded patina. It stands on two columns with smooth shafts supporting a round dial with a white enamelled crown and black painted Roman numerals. It is richly decorated in gilt bronze with a latticed canopy of garland drapery, handled pots with bouquets of flowers and is surmounted by a covered pot with laurel leaf handles. It rests on a rectangular grey marble base with four miche feet. The dial is signed CRONIER Ainé "Place des 3 mariés n°6 à Paris" (Antoine CRONIER 1732-1806 one of the most famous watchmakers of his time).
