Gilt bronze pyramid clock with openwork decoration... - Lot 330 - Coutau-Bégarie An ormolu pyramid clock with openwork decoration of trophies and laurel branches, topped by an antique vase and resting on lion figures supporting shields, the white marble base decorated with foliage scrolls and palmettes, the feet foliage. Directoire period Height 54 cm - Width : 34 cm - Depth : 21 cm (Accents to the enamel, missing plate and worn bronzes, missing hands) Provenance Christian Bernard Collection. A clock also known as a pyramid clock but topped with an armillary sphere is kept at Ajaccio town hall (bequest from Cardinal Fesch in 1839). A similar model was sold at Drouot by Maître Renaud on 29 May 1985, lot 69.
