The second part is of particular interest to the history of the town of Mâcon, where the pastor François Perreaud, originally from Gex, was living in 1620. Second and third editions of the work appeared in Geneva in 1656 and 1657. L'Antidémon was also reprinted on its own in Bourg-en-Bresse in 1853. However, the work was "already exceedingly rare in the eighteenth century, since Baillet, La Monnoye and Abbé Papillon only mention it by hearsay", writes Dorbon.
