Autograph signed letter from the author: Offert à mon confrère Monsieur le Dr Clot-Bey. Copy of Antoine Clot (1793-1868), known as Clot-Bey, doctor and surgeon from Marseille, specialist in plague epidemics, called to Cairo by the Pasha Mehemet Ali in 1825 to modernise Egyptian medicine, with his signature on the title and an interesting note in his hand at the head of the volume ("propagation de vieilles erreurs contagionistes", etc.). Small tear to the false title, some brown spotting, rubbed headbands.
