Peter Mandl (born 1947)
Glass sculpture Sign and numeral 1/5. 20th century Dimensions: H: 47.5 ; W: 11.5 ; D: 11.5 cm. When the Soviet Union invaded Prague in 1968, Peter and his family fled to Sweden. Peter now lives with his wife Gunilla Parp on the outskirts of Halmstad. They have two children: a son, Paul (born 1975), and a daughter, Ingela (born 1976). Today, Ingela looks after the commercial side of Peter's work, allowing him to concentrate fully on his creative process. Most of Peter's Ďuvres are exhibited throughout Sweden. His magnificent women sculpted in bronze and glass, who sail the sea and the wind, can be admired in many galleries. In the late 70s, Peter worked exclusively in bronze, but returned to glass in the early 90s. Today, he works in both glass and bronze.
