PÉTRARQUE. Le Pétrarque en rime françoise, avecq ses commentaires, translated by Philippe de Maldeghem. Brussels, Rutger Velpius, 1600. In-16, red morocco, double frame of gilt fillets with fleurons at the corners, central cartouche with interlacing, spine decorated with aldins, inner lace, gilt edges (Allô). First edition of the French verse translation of the Canzoniere and Triumphs by Philippe de Maldeghem (1547-1611). It was resold in Douai six years later.
The edition is decorated with a woodcut portrait of Petrarch and Laure and a fold-out map of Vaucluse.
A very fine copy, finely bound by Allô.
