"A few years ago Your Holiness was kind enough not to disapprove of the intention I had to acquire the statues and paintings from the Cabinet of the late Prince Dn Livio Odescalchi; Your Holiness even granted permission to bring them out of Italy to Sr Crozat, whom I had entrusted with this task; this purchase is about to be completed and I very humbly ask Your Holiness to deign to renew this permission; this mark of his kindness to me will be very much appreciated"...
