The landscape painter Philips Augustijn Immenraet, while adhering to the Flemish Baroque taste, introduced a new luminosity and his works already show a rocaille and pre-Romantic character. Like many of his colleagues, the painter sojourned in Italy and this influence can be felt in the Venetian and Classicist flavour of his compositions.
The work is accompanied by a photocopied critical file by Raffaella Colace.
