PHOENICIAN GLASS BEAD WITH KNOB PROJECTIONS.
Ca. 400 - 200 BC A glass bead of squat barrel form in deep cobalt blue, with a central frieze of protruding yellow, blue and white concentric eye motifs linked by thin white trails and encircled above and below by circumferential white bands, each end around the perforation set with a band of rounded knobs in opaque yellow, white and mint green glass. Size: 31mm x 34mm; Weight: 29.5g. Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s; Reputedly from the Dr. Nolte collection, acquired in the early to mid 20th Century AD.
