Our photo shows Robert Filliou's work "Just about time" on the white-painted wall in the background. Candida Höfer has placed it in the centre of an interior she has chosen. What at first glance appears to be an unfamiliar room, whose furnishings evoke familiar associations, comes into focus on closer inspection and emphasises Filliou's work in an unusual way, as it is interwoven into the room. Höfer's interior is related to the exhibition "Zimmerdenkmäler", curated and organised by Rafael von Uslar in Bochum in 1995. Just as our photo was taken especially for the exhibition, Filliou's work was also included here on loan. The photo is to be seen as Höfer's friendship to von Uslar and appeared unlimited. In its subject matter, it is an homage to spaces and, in a figurative sense, to places, as the background to the exhibition was the persecution of Jews in the Ruhr region.
