A SHOWER PORCELAIN PLATE, CIRCA 1755; SLIGHTLY WORN, A FEW MINOR FIRING DEFECTS, TWO MINOR LOSSES
This decoration, with running deer in a landscape, is close to the Japanese Imari taste and is both pleasing and rare to find: a series plate with these illustrations passed through these rooms in 2005, while a service plate is now in the Lokar collection. Andreina d'Agliano, in her study of this porcelain, refers to a series of 'Piatti grandi dipinti alla Giapponese' (inventario della Galleria di Doccia dell'anno 1758, il di 19 giugno 1758, Archivio Ginori Lisci, filza 37, in A. d'Agliano, op.cit. 2013, scheda 85, p. 182).
