Officer's flintlock pistol. Bladed barrel, slightly blunderbussed at the muzzle, with hair rifling, signed "Pr Aug BIZALLION & Cie A ST ETIENNE", hallmarked. Lock signed "P Agte Bizalion & Cie à St Etienne" and hammer (repaired) with flat bodies. Double scrolled silver rimmed light and bassinet. Silver ramrod, counterplate, trigger guard and cap engraved with foliage and game. Iron ramrod with silver tip. Checkered walnut stock with "LD" engraved thumb piece. Hallmarks of 2nd title and medium guarantee 1809-1819. Goldsmith's hallmark "C.C". Length: 34 cm. Good condition. First Empire-Restauration period. Pierre-Auguste BIZALION (or BIZALLION). Armourer and merchant in Saint-Étienne (Loire). Born on February 8, 1776, parish Saint-Elier, died on November 10, 1838, according to Jarlier-Buigné. Provenance: Collection of Monsieur F.
