SYRIAN RECTANGULAR TRAY in brass inlaid with silver and red copper, rectangular in shape with rounded edges, decorated in the centre with three medallions inscribed with an adage on a background of palmettes, and cartouches with geometric motifs, the flat edge decorated with a frieze of eight panels, four of which are inscribed with an Arabic proverb and geometric motifs.
