Lot no. 131
PLÉIADE (LA). [Paris, printed by Alcan-Lévy], March 1886; 7 issues in one volume, blue half-chagrin, spine ribbed with gilt flower, gilt title on upper cover, front cover preserved. Extremely rare complete collection of the 7 issues, containing texts by Rodolphe Darzens, Pierre Quillard, Camille Bloch, Maeterlinck, Éphraïm Mickael etc. One hors-texte. Théodore de Banville presents this new review with kindness, describing the poets who compose it as a cloud of nightingales launching their spring trills. Interrupted for a while, the review resumed in 1889 and later became Mercure de France.
Scratched heraldic stamp.
