Publisher's metal binding, iron covers and spine, designed by Anders Österlin. The front cover is decorated with a brightly coloured relief composition based on a photograph of the MoMA facade by Alicia Legg. First edition. Superb catalogue of the exhibition organised by Pontus Hulten at MoMA in New York in 1968. Pontus Hulten (1924 - 2006), a Swedish art historian, was the first director of the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He was also director of the Museet in Stockholm, founded a museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles and organised a large number of exhibitions with leading artists around the world. This catalogue, with its very Pop-Art cover, describes and illustrates works by Man Ray, Max Ernst, Moholy-Nagy, Calder, Magritte, Duchamp, Tinguely and others.
