Wall-mounted spoon holder
Made from carved beech wood. Heart-shaped, it is topped by an ornate handle, allowing it to be hung. It is complemented by a nailed shelf with four notches, which holds two brass spoons that have clearly been well used (one bearing a maker’s mark ‘AUBE // MACE…’) and two wooden, single-piece forks.
Late 19th century
Height of spoon holder: 23.5 cm
Repaired and with a very fine patina on the forks
Reproduced in the book ‘La passion du savoir-faire – collection Pierre Hénin’, Atelier Baie, 2011, page 141
