The mortal Castor, the horse-tamer, sits on a horse, receiving one of the Leucippides from his immortal brother Pollux. After the 1618 painting by Peter Paul Rubens, now in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. Fine, polychrome painting. Old embossed dealer's label "Giuseppe Melli/Florence" verso.
